Dr. David Brown and colleagues at the Center for Survey Research at Stony Brook University will be conducting a survey of all New York State members of the American College of Cardiology to determine their utilization of and opinions regarding the Department of Health public reports on cardiac surgery outcomes. Although 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of public reporting of cardiac surgery outcomes in New York State, it remains unclear if these data are actually used by cardiologists when referring their patients for cardiac surgery. Participants may take the 10-minute survey by phone, on a hard copy or online. To show our appreciation, those who complete the survey by phone, hard copy or online, will be entered into a drawing for an I Pad 2.
